Plant yourself in Jesus

'For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought nor stop bearing fruit. Blessed [with spiritual security] is the man who believes and trusts in and relies on the Lord And whose hope and confident expectation is the Lord.'

I could just leave this scripture verse and tell you to re-read this over and over whenever you have the feelings that are described in this scripture verse. These words are enough for that. It sounds nice on paper, but it is another thing to hold tight to God when the times are hard. When our pain just becomes unbearable. I would be lying if I told you I always started out with trusting. Let me let you in on a little secret in all honesty most of us start out asking questions like why this is happening? or crying out that it is just too hard. We experience emotions that we can't explain and that is good. Recognizing your emotions and feeling the pain is a great place to start but don't let it make you become bitter. Don't stay in that. Grasp onto Jesus the one who was right beside you when the bad news arrived. He was there beside you while you cried tears of pain. Holding you and lifting you up. When you ask yourself how you got through? It wasn't your strength it was His.

I encourage you today to plant yourself in Jesus the lasting water of life.
